Sieve the flour, baking powder and salt.
Rub in the fat to a sandy texture and make a well in the center.
Add the sugar and the liquid; dissolve the sugar in the liquid.
Gradually add the flour and mix lightly.
Roll out two rounds 1 cm thick.
Place on a greased baking sheet and cut a cross half way through the rounds with a large knife.
Milk wash and bake in a moderate oven for 15-20 min.
